Broomdasher, the six voice acapella group who sing traditional English folk songs, will launch their 2019 live schedule at The Hoy at Anchor in Westcliffe on Sea on Tuesday 12 February.

 

It's a first visit to this popular Essex club for the London based group, and they will feature a number of songs about the sea and sailors.

 

They return to Essex on 20 May to sing at Waltham Abbey Folk Club.

 

In between times, they are making an excursion North, for a weekend in Yorkshire, with a headlining show alongside Ray Hearne at Doncaster Little Theatre on 30 March.

 

The tour will feature several new songs including Pilgrimage, given to them by Jess Arrowsmith, a more traditional singalong selection and the songs from their debut CD, Nothing To Do With Me

The record was produced by Andy Seward, best known for his work with Kate Rusby, Coope, Boyes and Simpson and the BBC Radio Ballads. It includes a version of Rufford Park Poachers arranged for them by Barry Coope and How High The Price/All Clouds the Sky, gifted by John Tams, who when he heard them sing it said "I will never sing it again because it is your song now".
